Your life…. on Maury?

Published by msperspective at 8:03 pm under relationships Edit This

I was thinking about life earlier, and *smile* don’t I sound all deep? LOL…

Somehow as I took an inventory of the experiences and lessons that I’ve learned over the last 20+ years, I found that the folder marked “public” kept getting larger and larger until it became a section all on its own.

So… I started thinking that I couldn’t be the only person that finds themself in a situation thinking “Ashton…is that you?” or “Maury!! I don’t even know how I got here or why” *smile* I just kept looking for the hidden camera.  Since I’m sure I’m not the only one out there… I thought I might address that situation, give a few thoughts on how to avoid the situation, and end with a new piece.

***Oh yeah, I plan to use this blog as a medium for trying out new pieces of poetry, stories, lyrics, etc etc. Be sure to leave me some comments!***

Situation: I believe that people sincerely feel like they need to ALWAYS have something to talk about, so most people start with their own stuff…and somewhere around 2-20 minutes later (depending on the person), they find that they’ve run out of things to say.  SO… their solution is to talk about someone else’s business or when in the absence of something to say…they embellish.

Unfortunately this is where you and your life come in…. You may find yourself as the main topic for some random people’s conversation. Hey it happens. Then you are confused and feel like you are on the couch at Maury’s talking about “I KNOW he’s the daddy” or even worse… you may feel like you are in the studio with Wendy Williams looking at the clock as the seconds go by, and you are free!! LOL

Tips to avoid:

1. KNOW the people that you have around you. ((When I say KNOW, I mean…. make sure you understand the type of person they are to you. Some people cannot help the fact that they tell other people’s business…. sometimes they don’t even realize they are doing it!))

2. DON’T tell anyone something that you are not comfortable with if it got leaked….

3. If you are one of those people that “have a following”…. understand that you WILL ALWAYS be the topic of someone’s conversation. Acknowledge it and then move on. You creating scenes only hypes the situation up even more… (Now you are the star of not just 1 episode of Maury but 2, 3, maybe even more!)
